As Axton noted Unix systems are licensed to hostid instead of to the NIC.  All 
most everytime we see this on our SUN servers we would stop the AR System, 
delete the .multilicense file and then restart the system.

Couple of things:
- Multiple copies of arserver on the same box
- Corrupt .multilicense
- hostid changed
- license file was removed or altered
- permissions changed on license file
