That would be a nice feature to have in some cases too especially when you need to see the ticket you have just created including the Request ID that gets created after the submit transaction has been commited to the database. Joe D'Souza Remedy Developer / Consultant, BearingPoint, Virginia.

As the only real current work around is having a Search view and have the display properties to be edit. How about the ability to have the system automatically make fields read only on a modify, if the current user can not edit them. I guess when you sit back towards the end of a project looking at your output and start wondering what could have made your life a little more easier you tend to get these ideas... This is another one I would have wished for.. I have created character fields with menus attached to them wherein I have restricted users by choosing the Display Type of the field as Drop-Down List. This works real nice without embedding tons of workflow so that the users are forced to choose from these menus.. Great on a create mode where you are working with dynamic menus such as CTI's or RSD's etc... Its a sort of a pain though for a user when he wants to search for lets say an Item if it were CTI where Item might be the same values for more than one tree.. Then he is forced to use the Advanaced search feature since he cannot type into that Item field... We already have AL action where we can Change Field and attach menus.. Wonder how hard it would be to have the Display Type changed too with this Change field action whenever required such as Window Open on a QUERY mode as in the above example... From my understanding of the system this might require some change in the server as well as the client side, so that both the server and the client recognizes that change field action... Something that I would wish that Remedy engineering considers on a future release or a patch...
