Thanks Chad! Yes, that would explain why I'm getting this behavior only on submission. The forms in question are the joins that act as views for some custom classes in CMDB. I had to create a custom namespace as well, and the submit actions all occur via push fields, while the modify is handled by the system. That would explain why submission, and not modification is the issue here.
