We are having problems running the CMDB 1.1 installer (no patch) to upgrade CMDB 1.0 p0003. The fail point each time is the Problem updating metadata. We had to delete all CMDB related groups just to get to this point in the install. We have deleted and imported a fresh CMDB Internal User all to no avail. Below last entry in install log:
Wed Dec 27 13:27:38 EST 2006 Initializing CMDB. runOSDriver /usr/ar/orad229/en/workflow/initcdmdb.drm /usr/tmp/cmdb/initcdmd b.out shlib_set /usr/ar/orad229/bin Upgrading CMDB metadata. runOSDriver /usr/ar/orad229/en/workflow/metaupgrade.drm /usr/tmp/cmdb/metaup grade.out VERIFYRETURN shlib_set /usr/ar/orad229/bin parseDriverLog /usr/tmp/cmdb/OSDriver.out Problem updating metadata. Our environment configuration is as follows; Solaris - 5.8, Oracle 9.2.0.6, AR System - 6.0.3 patch 17, CMDB 1.0 p0003, Help Desk 6. This is a non root install, we are installing as the same user that all other Remedy based applications were installed. The remedy user that we are logging in as has ownership and group rights to all files. Summarized environment variables as follows: _=/usr/bin/env AR_SYSTEM_LICENSE_DIR=/etc/arsystem/d229 SSH_TTY=/dev/pts/5 PATH=/usr/oracle/d229/product/ora92_64/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/xpg4/bin:/usr/sbin: /sbin:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/ucb ARNONROOTINSTALL=TRUE LOGNAME=remedy MAIL=/var/mail//remedy ORACLE_SID=d229 PS1=$ USER=remedy TNS_ADMIN=/usr/oracle/d229/product/ora92_64/network/admin ORA_NLS33=/usr/oracle/d229/product/ora92_64/ocommon/nls/admin/data HOME=/usr/ar LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib:/usr/ucblib:/usr/oracle/d229/product/ora92_64/lib32 ORACLE_HOME=/usr/oracle/d229/product/ora92_64 TWO_TASK=d229 PWD=/usr/ar ARCONFDIR=/usr/ar/orad229/conf BMC Remedy admitted the CMDB 1.1 installer had not been tested on Solaris (tested on AIX) with a CMDB 1.0 install.
