Here's how you tell the difference:

   Alaska:     -40 or worse..
   Vancouver:    0+

   Alaska:      snowy & dry
   Vancouver:   wet

   Alaska:      No sunlight in the winter; 
                all sunlight in the summer.
   Vancouver:   No sunlight ever - 
                because of all the rain.

   Alaska:      Restaurants sell Bear & carribou
   Vancouver:   Restaurants are mostly Sushi
