I would check with your Exchange administrator(s) and make sure that the
Exchange Server is configured to ACCEPT incoming connections via SMTP.
It is disabled by default, I believe.

Hey Carey,

       Frank,

Hum... based on the limited info you provided I am not sure
where the
break down is. But here is some information that might help you
figure
it out based on the rest of the data you see in the logs.

( I am only talking about outbound email here. )

What the Email Engine does is login to the ARS sever (using the
application password) and get the Email Config info. Assuming
that
works then it should be able to also read data from the AR
System
Email Messages form. It will use the Email Config info to "do
the
right thing" with messages that are waiting to be sent. ('Send
       Message' = "Yes")

If the Email Engine is getting this far and failing to connect
to the
SMTP server then I think you will only see errors in the email
engine
logs. (But you might also see AR System Email Error Log form
entries
       too.)

       ON the other hand....

If the Email Engine is unable to talk to the ARS server (via the
application password) then it will not even be able to read the
Email
Config form or the "AR System Email Messages" form.

So if that Authentication error is specific to the SMTP server,
then
you likely need to fix the data in the MailBox Config form. (or
maybe
your NT Account has been locked/disabled/password changed?)

If the Authentication error is specific to the Email Engine
login to
ARS, then you need to updates is "application password" in it's
config
file. (See the docs for details.)

       HTH.
