That's funny. I requested that enhancement becuase we wanted the char
field menu that emulates a drop-down to actually act like a drop-down.
We had issues where a field need to be cleared, but the only native
option, prior to this enhancement, was to select a menu item, pres
ESC, Press CTRL+X; which was not acceptable to our users.

Subject: Re: Midtier v7 - "clear" entry at menus

** Robert,

In all Remedy versions I know, there is a "Clear" option in all Drop Down
type fields, for instance in the Status field (field id 7).

However, since version 7.00.01, also all character fields with attached
menus will have automagically a "Clear" option; see also the 7.00.01 Release
Notes:

Clear item on drop-down character field menus
If the display type of a character field is Drop-Down List, the last item on
the
first level of any menu attached to the field is now (clear). When users
choose that item, any previously chosen menu item is removed from the
field.
You do not manually add the (clear) item to a menu. Rather, the item
automatically appears at run time on all types of character field menus
(character, file, search, SQL, and data dictionary).

So this 'feature' was added in a dot release...

Kind regards,

Michiel
