I would have to take exception to your arthmetic. Classes cost $600/day,
and if you can take 2-3 classes in Houston for the price of one in
Pleasanton, you're spending WAY too much on expenses.

Put the question another way - does it cost your company more to not go to
training at all, or to spend the extra $1000/week (33% of the class cost)
for expenses?

Michelle,

I have asked BMC in the past to setup classes in Houston, TX (BMC HQ) and
although they always say that it is possible it has never happened.

Another issue right now is that their training staff is quite busy and it
would be at least three months or more since they are all booked.

I am sure there are quite a few people in the SW region who would like to
attend a class in Houston (or Dallas) so that they wouldn't have to travel
too far, or could drive and maybe did not need a hotel.

There are quite a few 7.x courses that are needed to get up to speed, but
taking all of them is usually out of the question due to budget
restrictions.

I have been trying to convince management to let me go to the 'CMDB 2.0 Best
Practices' class since many people had recommened it and we are going to
implement a CMDB for the very first time, but then there is ARS Admin Part 2
and 3, and maybe the SD/CM or AM class.

Someone on this thread had mentioned that Column may offer the Part 3 class
in Dallas, TX instead of just Downers Grove, IL. That would be great.

While Pleasanton, CA certainly sounds like a great destination, I could take
2 or 3 courses in Houston for the price of what it costs to go to CA since
there would be no travel and hotel cost.

Does anyone know why BMC does not offer any Remedy courses in Houston ? It
is just that traditionally Remedy only offered them in Pleasanton and
Columbia ?

Rgds,

Chris
