I would expect it to be off by an hour there too.

You're probably still seeing the OS year-aware limitation because you're
playing with dates in 2006. The operating system at the Windows Client
will do the time zone conversion (improperly) in both directions (submit
and display) since the OS is not year-aware - which is why it looks
right in the User Tool and wrong in the Mid-Tier. The Mid-Tier / Java
does the conversion right and displays correctly what is in the DB
(server).

This only applies to historical dates (i.e. those in year 2006 or
previous) and only those that fall within the "range" between the old
rules and the new rules. i.e. dates between the second Sunday in March
and the first Sunday in April for years previous to 2006 will be
affected. In the same way, dates between the last Sunday in October and
the first Sunday in November will be affected.

Hope this helps explain what you see...

I didn't think the arserver had to be patched for the mid-tier to work.

What happened below was that the ticket we were looking at was from Mar
21 of last year, so it is supposed to be a year off because the DST
patches aren't year-specific. The only confusing thing is that in the
user tool it is still correct. I would expect it to be off by an hour
there too.

Has anyone tested the java yet to see if it is off by an hour too during
the three week window prior to DST last year, like the windows patch
will be?

Thanks,

Gary

Perhaps the update works in conjunction with AR Server and Mid-Tier.
Meaning, below it shows that the AR Server 6.3 is unpatched. Do you
have another patched AR Server that you can point your new Mid-Tier at?

Subject: Help with Patch 21 Mid-Tier
Importance: High

Server: Windows 2k

Mid-Tier 6.3 Patch 21

AR Server 6.3 (No Patch)

java version "1.5.0_06"

MS SQL 2k DB

Please help. We just installed patch 21 (Mid-Tier), and now we go in a
ticket that was created at 6:21, and in the mid-tier the time shows up
as 5:21 while the User Tool shows up as 6:21 as expected. This is
confusing since it's not even DST yet...

I checked the registry key in windows 2k to validate it was updated, and
it was. I also checked the java version, and it's 1.5.0_06, which I
thought showed to be DST compliant.

Please help!!!!!
