Thanks for the replies.

This is a UK based company with substantial operations
in the US so, I am sure they are subject to US federal
laws. I am amazed they remain in business...or that
they continue to do business with Remedy contractors.
Ignorance is a bliss. For them.

A funny thing happened after posting to ARSLIST. I
sent a stern email (but a few nothces below last
years's nasty email I talked about earlier) and cc'd
their top guys. In two hours or so, the 1099 appeared
heroically as a pdf in an email reply! As if they were
waiting for a not-so-polite request all along. So much
for my mother's instructions to be nice.

Or may be this list has a way of producing results. I
don't know. Last year I posted a somewhat vague
message about payment troubles. Dan replied/inquired
privately. Shortly afterwards, the payment
materialized...*all* of it in a wire transfer at no
cost to me (two weeks before my second baby was due).
Dan never claimed credit, but I am sure he is to
blame, together with the potential for exposure on the
list, and perhaps, the drastic change in volume and
tone of my demand.

Anyway, contractors be warned. I have heard others'
horror stories with this company. I doubt this is the
only company to watch out for.

I sugest a contractor's annual BMC partner hall of
fame and hall of shame. There is no reason a company
should be allowed to continue to exploit/abuse
independents out there.
