Timothy,

There is an issue with installing SQL Server 2005 and Vista. SP2 for
SQL is supposed to correct this but it didn't work on my computer.
There is also an issue with Visual Studio 2005 and Vista. A VS patch
was recently released but it didn't work. My computer and video card
are new and fully compatible with Vista, so it's not a hardware issue.

I have been running Office 2007 and Vista Ultimate 64-bit since Vista
RTM and Office RTM were released last November. Because of the lack of
stability and the incompatibilities I have decided to get rid of it.
This week I went back to Windows XP. In my opinion and based on my
experience Vista is not ready yet. I will probably wait until SP1 is
released before looking at Vista again.

On a related note, since you have multiple instances of ARS running on
your notebook, the free Virtual PC 2007 is good and will run on Vista.

Stephen

Subject: Windows Vista Question

**
OK.....here is a question. I am a consultant who carries around multiple
ARSERVER instances on my Laptop. I have a 5x, and 7x server loaded on a
Windows XP laptop. I already am aware of the client limitations; but are
there limitations to AR System Server living on a Vista machine with say
SQL Server??
