Is it advisable to use macros? ... not in my opinion.

But to try to answer your questions more directly...

You can edit macros and append content from other macros if you use an
editor that will not muck with special characters. ( VI, VIM, or if
you have to Emacs should be good choices. I have no idea how well
Notepad, or Word pad might work/fail in that task.) However that is
strictly speaking not "nesting" (as in referencing another macro from
inside the first macro) in my book. And I do not know of a way to
reference/call another macro from inside a macro.
