I had similar problem on MS Windows 2003, ARS 6.3.0, ITSM 6.0 (No Flashboards) environment. The following documented process resolved my issue.
1. Determine password for ASP and record it somewhere for future usage 2. Login <ARS> server using Remedy Administrator with Administrator privileges 3. Click on server name <server>under Servers pane 4. File -->Server Information --> Server Information window opens 5. Click on Connection Settings Tab 6. Enter the password in Application Services Password filed 7. Click Apply --> Click OK 8. Log out Remedy Administrator 9. Login <ARS Server Box> OS server with sufficient permissions to stop and start ARS Server and Email Engine 10. Find Remedy Action Request System Server service and Stop it 11. Accept if any message appears after stopping the service 12. Wait for few seconds 13. Start Remedy Action Request System Server service 14. Make sure Remedy Email Engine is also started 15. Go to D:\AR System\AREmail\Logs 16. Open stdout.log file 17. Make sure you read the following Application has started Version: 06.03.00 patch 018 Using JRE: 1.5.0_04 Checking connection to server: <server> ... loaded library Successfully connected. 18. Otherwise follow the fix given below a. Stop Email Engine Service b. Open the startup script file in a text editor-on Windows, EmailStart.bat c. Append the following statement to the end of the line that starts the email engine: -p <application_service_password> d. Execute the script, which updates the system with the correct password by applying the changes to the EmailDaemon.properties file. e. Edit the script again, remove this addition, and restart your system. NOTE: The password < application_service_password > must be the same one that is used in Remedy Administrator (RA). i.e. hello in RA hello in EmailStart.bat. I hope this helps. If you altered fields limits or permissions, those will be overwritten as well. Axton On 4/10/07, Siti Hawa Bee SHAIK FARID <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: ** Really?
