For outgoing mail you will need to configure Sendmail. Run a ps -elf |
grep -i sendmail. This will search the process table to see if sendmail
is running. If it is, you're good to go unless you need some
site-specific tweaks for your organization. You may also check out the
startup script by doing a grep sendmail /etc/rc*.*/*. This will find
the sendmail startup script for you.

Subject: Outgoing Email On UNIX Solaris

**

Hi guru folks,

I am working on configuring the email engine on version 7.xx - I have
question about Email Server Type? I would like to setup the outgoing
with IMAP or POP.

Do I need to setup sendmail process on the UNIX environment? If so does
anybody have a basic script for sendmail?

The following is the environment we are using:

Solaris 8

Oracle 10.2 (10i)

ARS 7.02 Patch 3

Robert
