I just wanted to share what we encountered, it may be helpful to some. We just recently ran into this problem as we began a pilot deployment of Outlook 2007 to several support teams earlier this week. We use templates for all of our email and the html body would not display. The deployment team had actually been working on this exact issue with MS for apparently quite some time prior. MS said that we were the first to report this and they hadn't heard of any issues before, interesting... We tried multiple solutions, recreating the templates, adjusting all configurable settings in Outlook, Remedy etc...
We had a workaround for this, although it was not a long term solution by any means. We had to send all of the emails that Remedy generated to a personal folder on the client systems and then the content would display correctly. After some pondering and tinkering around we got this resolved. We noticed that the version of Outlook on our server was 2000. We installed 2003 on the server this morning and all of the emails began to display the html correctly. It's not good news. Outlook 2007 introduced a new model for rendering HTML email. It no longer uses Internet Explorer, it uses Word 2007 and Word 2007 does not support certain HTML elements. As such, you can't use an email that contains a form with a submit button that returns data to a web page. There is a work-around. While viewing an HTML email you can select Other Actions -> View in Browser. This causes OL to display the email using the browser. This is going to have an impact on many companies around the world very soon. Even though it only takes additional two clicks to open the email in the browser it will not be considered acceptable by many users. We just began testing this week and already I have received a reply that (paraphrased) "we have to find a better solution". I leave all my Pictures on the server website, and when they get emails.. it just points there for the graphics.
