That being said, there is an Company name alias and a nickname that CAN be
changed without negative effect on anything. Those don't necessarily show
up everywhere, but it might be a possible solution for you.

Hey Jake:

I have to come in on this with Rick, it certainly is possible but it isn't
easy. The easiest way is probably to setup a new company. There used to be
a product for ITSP that would do as you suggest, called the Data Wizard I
believe, but it was not ported over to ITSM 7 when ITSP replaced the ITSM
application.

The answer I've heard is "No". If you find a way to change the company
name, those changes will NOT automatically propogate down through all of the
related objects. Figuring out how to do that might take more time than just
recreating a new company, but that's up to you.

Subject: ITSM 7 - renaming "My Company"

** Hi Listers,

We are just a few weeks away from going live with our ITSM 7 implementation
and have pretty much completed our configuration on the apps.

However, a new requirement has surfaced that will require us to use the
multi-tenancy feature and add another operating company. My question is -
can we rename the default "My Company" to our company name (NYP)?

- how do we do this? In the Company form, the company name is read-only.
- will this change cascade down to all the configurations we've already
done?
- any other 'gotchas' ?

Thanks for any information you may provide.
