The problem is the customer would like to be able to do reporting on the old tickets. They only want to import this year's data. So, for them to do reporting on the HPD:HelpDesk tickets for this year, all of this years's current data in HD4 needs to be in SD7. I hope this makes sense. I like the idea you had, it just does not seem like it would work for this customer.

If you are going to be doing an archive of the old helpdesk tickets I would recommend making a copy of the old helpdesk forms removing anything that points at the server such as table fields and then importing the forms into SD7. You can then export the data and import into SD 7. I did this for my client and they are satisfied since the data structure is so drastically different. For all of the open tickets I mapped the minimum amount of fields and created a new table field to hole the related open ticket for viewing.

__20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ Hi list,
I am sure that there have been people that have mapped fields from Help Desk 4 to Service Desk 7. I am just looking for someone that might be willing to share what they have discovered. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
