I worked from home for 3 months on one occassion at the end of a project where my only role at the end was to support the application I had built.. Like Rick pointed out good reasons for telecommute would be to cut travelling costs when not absolutely necessary.. having good relationships with a customer is a nice thing. I am allowed to remotely work on the current project as well as soon as we are done with the requirement phase..
Opportunities to telecommute usually exist if your project is geographically distant from the place of your residence wherein costs of travel is expensible and could be significant. Usually most clients give you the option to fly back home for weekends, so its a lot cheaper for them to give you a remote access to work remotely from home.. I work from home every Tuesday and Thursday. It's quite nice! My only complaint is that my laptop has no where near the same capability as my desktop (small screen etc). But that can be worked around. The most important thing to remember is to have a work plan. Make sure that all of the things that you need are at home! You also have to be sure to make yourself available for meetings etc. On 5/30/07, Kaiser Norm E CIV USAF 96 CS/SCCE <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: ** All: I was curious if anyone has ever worked a Remedy job that was telecommute? How many such opportunities exist? Are they numerous or rare? Thanks, Norm __20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ -- Warren R.
