If I recall correctly, there is no default value (i.e. the field is NULL) for that type of field. The problem only occurs when a value is selected, perhaps by mistake. At that point, the only way to clear that value without clearing the form is to have a (clear) value added to the list. Rick _____

In those instances, once a value is selected, there's no way to unselect a value without selecting another value. The "Clear" selection satisfies the requirement without having to use workflow to clear the field.
