I would like to ask a question. The slow performance seen was for doing a search or submit/modify of tickets? We are seeing slow performance on submit and modify but our searches are pretty fast.

Our db server (shared by multiple databases) was having some performance
problems. Remedy was not the actual culprit but management felt that it
was a good time to check the settings of all databases on it. The
advisor pointed out latch contention because of not sharing cursors. At the same time the DBA turned on the ASMM - Automatic Shared Memory
Management feature (and the sga_max_size and SGA_TARGET parameters).

** Fred - did you follow the ADDM (advisor) or did you do this because of
another reason?

Look into the Oracle's Cursor Sharing for BMC(r) Remedy(r)
Products white paper on setting your cursor sharing to similar or force

After we changed this parameter (In the db and the ar.conf) our
speed increased

        Hi Shamhoon

Did you get any feedback from the list regarding this issue. We
experience a similar problem now.

        Regards
