Hi Mike,
BMC Configuration Management does not 'discover' anything unless you install
a BMC Configuration Management Tuner on it first.

The main use of BMC Configuration Management is for software deployment, and
of course it is also great for checking what software (and patches!) are
installed on your servers & workstations. You can even see if and when your
users are using their installed software! and of course you can put all this
data in the Atrium CMDB.
If you want to create inventory lists of all the equipment on your network,
including switches, hubs, access points, printers, thin clients and all
sorts of other stuff, you would use BMC Foundation Discovery.
Kind regards,

Hello, listers!
Actually my question is not about ARS, but BMC Config.Man. (formerly
Marimba).
Can anybody tell me, can this suite deal with network equipment, like
Cisco routers\switches and SAN devices, like Symmetrix? All I can see from
manuals, that agents ("tuners" in marimba terms) can be deployed to *nix and
windows machines, but no any word of network devices. Any suggestions?
Can anybody share information of using BMC Config.Man. to inventory ALL
infrastructure, not only desktops\PCs and servers, but network equipment and
storages too?
