Uh... why not use the API to get the values?

The def file format ( def or xml ) is not guaranteed in any way shape
or form. BMC could choose to encrypt the objects at the ARS server
before shipping the object back to the client API. Or they could just
radically change the file format in v7.1 or 8 or 9 without notice, or
need to "allow you to open a bug report against it." ( If they drop
functionality from the API you had better bet that you and others will
be screaming about the loss of functionality. )
