Well, I am a developer so I probably should not even be talking about futures let alone project time lines. So I would leave my comments for a "this is where we're going in future" kind of interpretation, rather than giving you any definitive time lines or feature deliverable commitments (by the way I do not play a role in such decision making, so not qualified/authorized). Personally I think it is quite feasible to deliver the "disengaging native library" feature in a very incremental way in short cycles rather than as part of a long haul project. But it remains to be seen how this all plays out. All the necessary ingredients are already there in the Java API today (as noted in previous email chain, you can disengage JNI in 7.1 bits itself but we do not advocate doing so yet since it is not quite functionally complete or tested enough).
