1. You mean setting the default permissions in the Admin tool (File ->
Default Permissions) crashes
the Admin Tool? I've never had a problem using that. What Admin
Tool patch are you on?

2. In the Admin tool you can go to Groups, select the group and set
permissions from there.
(Hint: To change a large group of fields from View to Change use
the space bar and arrow keys
in the right pane of the window)

3. It places a record in the Alert Events form. Users with the Alert
tool running (and logged in of
course) will get it then, otherwise it stays in the form until the
user starts the Alert tool.
You probably have an escalation that deletes the Alert Events
records after a period of time.

Subject: Remedy couple of questions

Hi All,

I have couple of easy questions in Remedy (Remedy client 6.3.0):

1) Defualt permission - does any one knows about the remedy client
crashing when setting
    the defualt values for ALs
2) Is there a better way to set fields permissions (i found a .net tool
that doesn't work for me).
3) Action Notify: setting the action to send an alert does it send an
alert to users connected via
the remedy alert? what does it do with users not connected - does it
sends an email?
what happen if i use as user name my email address - will it send it
to me?

thanks
Chanan
