If you run the AR Email Engine on that server, you will need it.

Subject: JRE Requirement for ARS Server?

        **
        Hello,

This might be a dumb question, but I haven't found the answer on
my own yet, so I'll ask the experts here while I continue to look for it
in the manuals.

I am setting up a new AIX server for a fresh install of ARS 7.0.
Is there a requirement to have a JRE installed on the ARS Server? What
functionality depends on it? Eventually I will have a mid-tier on a
different box and ITSM will be installed on this server, but for now my
question is just about a basic ARS - is there a JRE requirement?
Everything I've found in the manuals so far says the Admin tool needs it
or the mid tier needs it, but nothing that says the ARS server needs it.

If someone can point me to the right manual/page, that'd be
great too.

        Thanks,
