Well, thanks to virtualization we do this in a SANDBOX prior to running
'setup.exe' on the Development server.

Clone DEV --> SANDBOX

Enable all "Server Events"

Run 'setup.exe'

Disable all "Server Events"

Export all entries in the "Server Events" form to excel.

ARInside and Panacea will also do the trick (before / after)
comparisons, however any "configuration data records" will not be picked
up by this. (example a fix to an SLA entry..)

<IMHO>

About "Blindly Patching" - it appears that almost all support
organizations these days are leaning to "put on the patch and call us
back if..." mentality. I certainly know that I have been caught between
the rock and the hard-place at times when this is the only "support
action" available. You install the patch to correct X and now find that
Y is broken. Of course if the problem of X > Y then you could be better
off, but if X < Y then... none the less you still have a problem...

I just have to thank our organization for the ability to allocate some
VMWare capacity & file-space for our SANDBOX. It has saved us many
times, not only for "patching" but also for DEMO / Trial / Early Release
code. (we were early release on SRM for example).

</IMHO>

Subject: ITSM 7.0.2 Patch 5

**

Has anyone figured out how to get a list of the workflow objects
contained (i.e. modified) in this patch?

Not only is there apparently no way for us to do that prior to
implementation, BMC Engineering is telling me that they can't (read:
won't) provide that information.

Maybe this is just me, but I think that it's unacceptable to expect
customers to implement a patch blindly.
