There are some other possibilities: - Improperly seated memory module - Improperly seated expansion card - Improperly seated processor - System fan/heatsink not grounded against processor

I was wondering it it was just a four beep repeated five times, instead of five sets of four beeps being one error message, maybe it just repeated the four short beep (bad timer) error message five times. That indicates a bad motherboard.
