We just recently went through a hardware change and we're having
some issues with connecting to the server now. The computer name of our old
production server was Christopher. To minimize the impact on our users, we
changed the name of the new server to Christopher after the swap and set the IP
address to the same as the old one. We took the old production server off the
domain, and added the new one and changed the name. Problem is, the old server
had AR System and SQL Server installed so AR Server was set up to point to
usaf-aeahnhd04i (The previous computer name) as the database name instead of
Christopher which is what it is now. Is there anyway, short of reinstalling
SQL Server and AR Server of getting it to recognize the name change?
