One of the main advantages I have seen at my current job is the fact that when you go to upgrade the 'clients' you have one to upgrade...the mid-tier server. If you have a client install base then you need to worry about SMS (or some other package distribution mechanism). Another is the consistent client...most places use a standardized browser...so you don't need to worry about what patch level someone is on, etc Lightweight - Less network traffic between the client and the server honestly there are plenty of +'s and not many -'s....I'm sure people plagued with bugs that affect them would argue with me...but we are a 100% mid-tier shop with about 900 users about to increase to 2000...
