I have not read the links in the thread.. but ... just to clarify a bit... The base AR System product does have some (56 bit? ... not finding details at the moment...) basic level of encryption built in. ( You just have to turn it on on the server(ar.conf : Encrypt-Security-Policy=1) to use it with any of the API/packaged clients.) So the add on encryption packages are only needed to get at "higher levels" of encryption algorithms.
