My two cents...

Color is a bad thing to use to communicate "status". It can get you
(your company) into a a legal problem if any of your users are subject
to the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) or any other
"Accessibility" design standards.

I think you would be better off using a column (HTML read-only) that
shows a graphic for the "status" (A "Red X", or a "Green check mark"
or a "Yellow warning icon", etc..). The icon can still could be an ADA
issue, but there are better/cleaner ways to mitigate that in ARS than
to try to "fix" the client's rules for when the rows background colors
are changed. Like simply showing the calculated number too. :)

Again... that is just my two cents.
