Dave,
I had this same issue, after i tried to install ARS 7.1 on Windows
Vista with SQL 2005 Express. The installation wizard could not find my sql
express instance name or by local system name. I thought it would not work
with SQL Express edition, so i am now trying to get a copy of SQL 2005
developer edition. I am not a great fan of Oracle, so didnt bother to
install oracle DB
