7.1 email polling interval

Hey everyone- 
In the 7.1 email engine, polling interval is no longer in minutes, but
in "minutes/seconds".  The field is still an integer number though.  I
assume that if I set it for 5 it's still 5 minutes, but what is the
point of the new wording?  You can't put a "/" in the field, so what
exactly does minutes/seconds mean?
