My LDAP admin actually installed the old stuff several years ago and cobbled together a certificate that his servers will recognize and we are using that. Prior to that, we installed sTunnel on the AR server and used it to connect to the secure port on the LDAP server, with AREA hitting the local port on sTunnel.
