Easy way: Change the date format in the Windows client. Since AL's pull date from the client, it gets the date format from the client, too. This has to be set on every machine where the AL will run, though. That's OK if you're just running a daily report or something similar from one or two machines.
Slightly harder way: Just do a SET FIELDS and do a DIRECT SQL and call the date in the date format from the underlying DB.
