This can be a VERY long answer.... The first question I have is this - what jsp engine are you using and what version of the mid-tier? Also, is the mid-tier on the same box as the Crystal Report enterprise server? Or on a separate server? Also, are you using windows or unix? If you are using Unix.....email me off list, it gets WAY more complex. Assuming your mid-tier is on a separate box AND you are using Tomcat with the report viewer/IIS AND are on mid-tier 7.01 or higher on your other box - you generally have to do these steps starting from scratch. All directions below are pre-pended with which box you are doing the work on - CE - Crystal/IIS box. MT - mid tier box. 1.) CE - Install the appropriate Java version on the Crystal box - check the compatability matrix - it's something like the Java SDK 1.5/5.0. Be warned the version #'s have changed - also be warned that the named have changed. The JDK is now called the SDK (but not for old versions). 2.) CE - Install Tomcat JSP engine 3.) CE -Install the AR Web Report viewer using the mid-tier installer. Note the install directory. 4.) CE - Configure the virtual directory for Tomcat. The easiest way to do this is to find the arsys.xml file that the mid-tier installer puts in place. Copy it to "arreports.xml" and edit it to match the local directory in step #3. 5.) CE - Confirm Tomcat is alive and well by going to http://ce-server-name-goes-here:8080/ - 8080 is the default port for Tomcat. You should get re-directed to the Tomcat welcome page. 6.) MT - Configure the report locaion. The report working directory is the local directory on the CE box which HAS to be network accessible to the MT box. You may have to make a network share to reach it. 7.) MT - Configure the report server name - again this is http://ce-server-name-goes-here:8080/ - the port # is VERY important to include. 8.) CE - Configure the ARWebReportViewer - the url is http://ce-server-name-goes-here:8080/arreports/shared/config/configreport.jsp - this uses the same default password as the mid-tier config. Configure the report working directory to be the exact same local directory (full local qualified path, e.g. C:\Program Files\AR System\ARWebReportViewer\reports). 9.) CE - Enter the CE server name for the CMS Machine name - ie, your server name. 10.) CE - Enter the server info for the connection details. I hope this helps...
