An update from our house:

We went ahead and used 7.1 patch 2, because it fixed an issue where the
Approval server script wasn't waiting sufficiently for the AR System to
restart during the installation.

So far, the only real issue I've seen is that you need to have created your
Application Service and Mid-Tier passwords before you upgrade, because the
install script didn't update the ar.conf file.  Oh, and there is an issue
with the 7.1 installer reading and translating all of the license file - it
gets the server license but not the rest.  Having to re-specify the rest is
an annoyance, but not a show-stopper.

All of this is on the Linux install - other platforms may not see these.
