Hi Priyanka, I do this all the time as part of my migration service.
Clearly, you cannot simply import as the tables you are importing to no longer exist. The data from 6.3 must be imported in various forms to a plethora of configuration tables. There is no real shortcut. You must analyse what tables require data for an individual record of an individual source table. Then, you need to create files from the sources in such a format that they can be imported into the target tables. This is a lot of manual work without a tool like Meta-Update. With Meta-Update, the source tables are read and each required record in all of the target tables are created. Further, and especially in "root request" tables, some data values that were valid in ITSM 6.3 are invalid in ITSM 7. These data values must be looked up in ITSM 7 and the extra records so read are also used to set fields in the appropriate root request record. This is a non-trivial task.
