I should be fine just attaching the old database (sql 2000 database) to the new sql server (sql 2005 server) right? Anyway, thanks for all the replies. ________________________________________ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Brian Keith [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2008 8:42 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: SQL 2000 database to SQL 2005 server
Same here. Upgraded from 2000 to 2005 with no issues so far. It's been about 6 months. So I tried to just uninstall SQL 2000 and install SQL 2005 and was successfull. My question now is it a bad idea to just attach our ARSystem database from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 server? I just attached it and seems like it's working fine but I just want to make sure if that is not going to screw up later... I was told that I need to upgrade the database to SQL 2005 and I'm not sure if attaching the old database to SQL 2005 is considered upgrading my database... Please help.
