It's a 64 bit binary. I was thinking that the ld_library_path was wrong, but it does indeed reference the directory containing the .a's $ file /u/applic/wsadmin/WAS61/AppServer/java/bin/java /u/applic/wsadmin/WAS61/AppServer/java/bin/java: 64-bit XCOFF executable or object module not stripped I apologize about the confusion earlier. For some reason I have it in my head this is on another platform, but it's AIX all the way. Thanks, Matt
