We crashed 10-12 times a day until we upgraded our clients from v5.1.2 to v7.0.1. Took us 3 weeks for support to figure this out. Was last June.
Coincidentally it happened 3 times this morning. Seems someone had an old laptop that was not upgraded (user tool) and were logged in from home. Sometimes there's an error in the arerror log. Most of the time the threads just start creating and creating and creating until you're very slow and then, poof you're gone. We usually catch it before then since we know to be alert for slowness. Check your arthread.log and arerror.log.
