Hi, We have implemented the archiving option for 6.03 patch 20.
Just wanted to bring out an interesting point. Setting the time criteria fires the archiving process at SERVER TIME. But, the qualification that you specify like 'Create Date'< "1/1/2007" will look at the CLIENT TIME. So, if you have your production server in same time zone as yours, then it should not be a problem. What happened in our scenario was our production server runs on CST, whereas we are in PST timings, so when you specify the time criteria for FIRING archiving, you can set it to midnight 12:00 AM and then you can see that it fires 10 PM PST. We hoped the same even for Qualification. We thought that "Qualification" will look at the SERVER TIME, but instead it looked at CLIENT TIME. So, basically what happened was we archived more records than expected. We wanted to archive based on qual 'Create Date'<"1/1/2007 12:00 AM"(and we thought it would be CST), but archiving ran and it archived records based on 'Create Date'<"1/1/2007 2:00 AM" Just wanted to point this out. I am not sure how this thing works on 7.0.01. I checked the Config-Guide-630.pdf page 227, but it doesnt say whether qual looks at client time or does it look at the server time. Please share your ideas if anyone has seen something different from this. So that on the time criteria all records will be copied on the archive form. this is my experience, data will not get lost from the original form and records will be inserted in the archive form without any issue. Hope this helps... *Regards, Sandeep. Vyom Labs Pvt. Ltd. An ISO 20000 certified company.
