Listeners,
I am new to Remedy and I see an error that I believe i know the cause
for, I just need to find the evidence. We are running Remedy on the
following settings:
As Sy 6.3p23
UNIX 11.11
Oracle 10.00
The error we are having is as follows:
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 390688 : Malloc failed on server (ARERR 300)
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 GetPendingLongData()
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 390688 : Failure during SQL operation to the
database (ARERR 552)
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 ORA-03127: no new operations allowed until the
active operation ends
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 390688 : AR System server terminated -- fatal
error encountered (ARNOTE 21)
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 390688 : Failure while trying to connect to the
SQL database.
Please ensure the SQL database is running or contact the Database
Administrator for help (ARERR 550)
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 Error - OCIEnvInit
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 390688 : Cannot initialize contact with SQL
database (ARERR 551)
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 Stop server
Mon Jun 9 06:04:22 2008 390688 : AR System server terminated -- fatal
error encountered (ARNOTE 21)
I believe that this error is cause by the presence of LONG datatypes
that still exist in Oracle on the Production level causing it to fail when
it attempts to DSO onto another server (even though i am aware that Oracle
no longer considers LONG an appropriate datatype). I have the textual
evidence to support this, but I need proof from the program itself, which i
have been unable to find. I was wondering if anyone else was operating on a
similar setting and experiencing similar issues? And if so, how you have
solved the issue or are currently dealing with the problem. Any help would
be much appreciated.
Respectfully,
Morgan Peterson
