John, A lot depends upon your requirements and what you are willing to pay. There are several nice "free" tools out there like Nagios but you need to build a lot of the monitors. With something like HPOV you will pay for the initial development work, but as you know there is customization and configuration that will need to be done on your side. We use HPOV to both integrate with Remedy as well as monitor it.

We are considering implementing a 3rd party monitoring tool for our ARS environment. We are running ARS v.7.0.1, patch 6 on Win2k3 Servers, MS SQL 2005. I've looked over a couple of the threads in here and found no particular 'fav' of anyone. In my old position at another company, we were using HPOV on a Remedy 6.3 environment. I checked BMC's site, but no enlightment was to be found. Funny, that. At any rate, does anyone have any recommendation? Does anyone have any de-recommendations? I'd love to hear of your experiences, good or bad.
