Dan,

So what you're looking to do is re-authenticate when he is approving a
change. Assuming that this user receives the approval request to his
Approval server console, why not do the following:

1. Modify the approval process for that specific approval stage on
AP:Administration and Change the Require Password Drop down entry from
NO to YES.

okay, I thought that this is not hold for the whole session, I thought
it is only hold for a single dialog.
Then I will give it a try like you guys proposed to me and will get back
to you after it.

Thanks a lot!

I do not see why it wouldn't work.. The user is already logged in so
there is no need to enter the user name, the session already has that..

All you need to do is open that dialog box that prompts for the
passwordm use that APPLICATION-CONFIRM-PASSWORD and set the value of the
result to a field that is passed back to the main form.. depending on
whether or not the system authenticated the user, proceed with the
approval process or deny it if he had entered a bad password..

Joe,

I think this will not help us. Let me try to make it clearer:
We want to force the user to authenticate again before he is approving
changes.
Means that the user logs into the system with SSO (via Remedy User oder
Mid-Tier) and then later on if he wants to approve a change he has to
authenticate himself again by entering again his login name and password
in a dialog that pops up after he clicked on the 'Approve' button.

Hope this makes it clearer.

Thanks,
Dan
