I have a vague hope that the 7.5 infrastructure will change this topic quite a bit. I am not sure where I think I saw something about it and v7.5 in any BMC documentation. Maybe you should hold off on any such decisions (especially any that would cost you money) until you understand what 7.5 will bring to the table? (January(ish) 2009 is the last date I heard.)
