Members of dynamic groups are controlled by values in fields. Depending on which group you are discussing. So for example. If you are looking at the dynamic group 'Submitter', the member of that group, for any given record, is the user ID that exists in field 2 on a particular record in a particular form, the same thing goes for Assignee, field 4, and 'Assignee Group', field 112...later versions allow you to define your own Dynamic groups by matching field ID's to Group ID's within a specific group ID range.
