Sean, If you are installing the web service component on the AR Server, you HAVE to have a compatible version of java for the installation to be successful. It does not matter if your mid-tier server is on the same server or not.

My previous 6.3 server used java 1.4.2 so going down the same lines, i have pointed the install to the same directory, only for the installer to complain....... Please enter the Java installation directory: [/usr/java] Web Services using Java JRE path: /usr/java Java Version: 1.4.2 Web Services for Linux requires the IBM JRE version 1.5.0 or greater Web Services and Java Plugin Server cannot be configured without a valid Java JDK or JRE. Do you want enter a different Java home path? [n] On this installation, i will actually be running mid tier on a seperate server so with this in mind, should i start the installer again and NOT specify a Java home path ??? thanks in advance Sean _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are"
