In another project, we put a web page as the default that redirected to the https: URL. I also believe, but am not sure how, that you can set up automatic 80 redirect to 443. This would be dependent upon your web server, more than Remedy/Mid-Tier. I did a google search and found quite a few redirect ideas. One for example: http://www.pa.msu.edu/services/computing/faq/auto-redirect.html Further google'ing may help you out too.

We're setting up the Mid-tier for our remedy application for the first time, so far so good. After apply the SSL certificate, users are able to access the new web site with URL https://remedyweb. <https://remedyweb./> .... However, the non-SSL HTTP port still accessible, URL without the "s", e.g http://remedyweb. <http://remedyweb./> .. The question is how disable or turn that the non-SSL URL off, so the security department will not after us.
