Hi All ~ I have a request from our users to allow the Prod Cat Manufacturer field searchable the same way that the Product Name field is searchable in Incident Management. I'm debating whether or not to approach it the way they are asking for it (separate search on the Manuf. field) or expand the results in the Product Name search to include matches against the Manufacturer data. In other words, if a user searches the Product field for a value of "Remedy", the results would list anything where the product name OR the manufacturer includes "Remedy". I am thinking that the latter approach is less customization and deviation from the out of the box app so patching and upgrades would be easier but I'd like to get people's input first, in case I'm overlooking something. We are also not using the DSL so the search results shouldn't be obnoxious if we take the latter approach.
Anyone have any suggestions for either approach?
